Who I am

My name is Giulia, although most friends and clients know me simply as G — mainly because my name is often mispronounced! I am a Pilates teacher based in South-West London, originally from Italy, where my love of movement began at a very young age.

My background is rooted in performance and athletic discipline. I started figure skating at the age of six and trained intensively until I was thirteen, when recurring ankle injuries brought that chapter to an early close. Dance soon became my next passion, allowing me to continue expressing myself through movement and deepening my understanding of body awareness, control and physical expression.

That early connection to movement has shaped everything I do today. Sport, movement and body intelligence have always been central to my life, which naturally led me towards a career where I could help others move well, feel strong and build confidence in their bodies.

After moving to the UK in 2009, I qualified as a Pilates instructor and began developing my teaching practice, combining technical knowledge with the strong movement foundation built through years of sport and dance.

Training & Teaching Philosophy

I trained with Body Control Pilates in 2015, qualifying in both Matwork and studio equipment. My teaching blends strong technical foundations with an appreciation for functional movement, athletic control and the individual needs of each person I work with. I believe Pilates should not only strengthen the body, but also create balance, confidence and clarity — because a healthy body truly supports a healthy mind.

Alongside my classical Pilates training, I completed the Balanced Body Educator programme in Sacramento, California, and I now deliver teacher training courses at myPilates London, a Balanced Body Authorised Training Centre founded by Pete Pallai.

Teaching teachers has become a natural and deeply rewarding part of my Pilates journey. I am passionate about supporting the next generation of instructors — particularly those at the beginning of their path — helping them develop confidence, skill and their own authentic teaching voice.

My aim is always to create a learning environment where people feel encouraged, empowered and genuinely supported as they grow.

Giulia is intelligent and charming, her carefully planned pilates sessions are fun, varied and they deliver great results. She takes great care to know her clients and any individual weaknesses or injury, for that reason we can enjoy the training and feel safe when the classes challenge us. I love how I have built strength and flexibility and no longer suffer from the lower back problems of my past. Following 4 1/2 years of pilates mat and reformer sessions with Giulia, I wholeheartedly recommend both - perhaps a combination of the two is the best! - Alison
I have been training with Giulia for over 2 and half years now. She is the most wonderful pilates teacher. Always making it interesting with new exercises which gradually over time i have got better at ! Giulia has a wonderful way of making the classes fun so you actually don’t realise you’re pushing yourself each time. I have loved my reformer classes with her and equally and surprisingly have loved my mat classes on zoom with her. Because i trust Giulia always to make sure i don’t over push myself or injure myself , i have organised for my 90 year old mother to also have lessons with her on the reformer. It has become the highlight of her week and she loves Giulia and her way of teaching. i cannot recommend Giulia more highly ... she is totally unique and a real find. - Marianna F.
